YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THAT WINNING OVER TEMPTATION IS POSSIBLE & NECESSARY FOR A NEW START..."No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." 1 Corinthians 10:13
DON'T BELIEVE THE DEVIL'S LIES..."You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you (Jesus) is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world." 1 John 4:4
INVITE JESUS INTO YOUR LIFE FIRST: If Christ is in you, you have His power over the Devil and the power to resist his temptations. James 4:7 says, " Submit yourselves therefore to God (by praying). Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
IF YOU'RE NOT SURE YOU HAVE JESUS you need to invite Him to come into your heart & life and He promised he would immediately! He said in Rev. 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door (of your heart) and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in..."
NOW TRY THIS EXPERIMENT WHEN TEMPTED: Jesus said in John 16:24, "Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." You know what temptations you face often. The very next time temptation comes, ask Jesus to strengthen you to resist giving in. He ALWAYS gives us His power when we ask. This will result with you being "full of joy" as a result of his new found power you have discovered through prayer in Jesus' name.
